Cultivating Success One Farmer at a Time

Michigan AgrAbility provides direct services to farmers with injuries, illnesses or aging conditions so they can continue the occupation and lifestyle they love.

We use private donations and sponsorships to provide life-changing supports and services to these hard working men and women who brave the elements daily to provide us with food, fiber and fuel.  Contact us if you would like to donate, could benefit from our services or have new ideas how we could serve farmers in the future.

Pruning is vital
to a fruit tree’s long term production capacity. Pruning also keeps Jose, working all through Michigan’s snowy winter.

For Jose to continue his vital role in the orchard, he had to make some changes in the way he worked.

In spite of disabling back pain, Paul and his partner Ruth Smiley raise market vegetables and flowers and freeze dry them, create floral arrangements, seasonings, and do wedding gown alternations. Paul walks with a cane and has had surgery to fuse several vertebrae in his back. After the surgery, a car accident broke the fusions in his back. Geer called Ned Stoller, Michigan AgrAbility, for solutions on how he could continue farming. Click on the ‘blog tab’ above to read more stories of farmers that Michigan AgrAbility has helped.
